Thu Nov 21 09:54:22 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru to Host Massive City-Wide Arts Festival, BLR Hubba 2024

**Bengaluru, November 21, 2024** – Bengaluru is gearing up for BLR Hubba 2024, a city-wide arts and culture festival running from November 30th to December 15th. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, this year’s festival promises a significantly expanded program with over 500 events across 40 locations.

The festival, spearheaded by V Ravichandar, aims to solidify Bengaluru’s position as a global cultural destination. Unlike last year, which largely featured existing events, BLR Hubba 2024 boasts 75% curated and organiser-funded programming. Highlights include:

* **Church Street Beautification Project:** Transforming Church Street into a vibrant cultural corridor with pop-up performances and art installations.
* **GodeBLR:** A public art initiative transforming eight Bangalore Metro stations and two private walls into stunning murals.
* **Kantha:** An ambitious 16-day Asian music festival at Freedom Park featuring 38 performances.
* **The Makers’ Trail:** A showcase of Bengaluru’s design scene, featuring architects, studios, and home studios.
* **Gala Gala Gaddala:** Kannada programming, including Kuvempu Ramayana readings in public parks, celebrating the author’s 120th birth anniversary.
* **Namma Jatre:** A half-kilometer-long procession celebrating Karnataka’s folk traditions, starting at Vidhan Soudha on November 30th.
* **New Venues:** The festival will utilise unique spaces, including Panchavati (CV Raman’s ancestral home) and Sabha (a 150-year-old restored building).

With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, 350 events are free to attend, ensuring accessibility for all residents. The organizers are also engaging local cab and auto drivers to spread awareness within their communities.

Ravichandar emphasizes the festival’s role in strengthening the city’s “soft infrastructure,” creating public spaces and experiences that bring people together. He views BLR Hubba 2024 as a significant step towards realizing Bengaluru’s potential as a world-class festival city. For more information and the full schedule, visit blrhubba.in.
