**Ranchi, Jharkhand:** Conflicting exit polls have painted a divided picture of the Jharkhand assembly election results, with some predicting a win for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and others favoring the incumbent JMM-led Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance).
Four different exit polls offered varying projections. Matrize predicted an NDA victory with 42-47 seats against the Mahagathbandhan’s projected 25-30 seats. Peoples Pulse gave the NDA a slightly larger advantage, forecasting 44-53 seats to the INDIA bloc’s 25-37. Times Now-JVC projected a closer contest, with 40-44 seats for the NDA and 30-40 for the Grand Alliance. However, Axis My India bucked the trend, predicting a significant win for the JMM-led alliance with 53 seats and only 25 for the NDA. Further adding to the uncertainty, Electoral Edge and Chanakya Strategies offered different projections with Electoral Edge predicting 32 for NDA and 42 for INDIA, while Chanakya predicted 45-50 for NDA and 35-38 for INDIA.
The BJP contested 68 seats in the alliance, with the AJSU, JD(U), and LJP(RV) contesting 10, 2, and 1 seats respectively. The Mahagathbandhan comprised the JMM (41 seats), Congress (30 seats), RJD (6 seats), and CPI(ML) (4 seats).
The primary contest was between the Mahagathbandhan and the BJP-led NDA. It is important to note that exit polls are not always accurate predictors of election results. The final results will be announced by the Election Commission of India.
