**Mumbai, November 19:** The Abu Dhabi T10 League is set to return for its eighth edition on November 21st, promising another thrilling season of short-form cricket. The captains and head coaches for all ten participating teams have been revealed.
Several notable appointments highlight this year’s league. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will once again lead the Bangla Tigers, while former Pakistan captain Younis Khan continues as head coach for a third consecutive year. Nicholas Pooran will captain the Deccan Gladiators for a third straight season, aiming to build on their 2022 title win and 2023 finals appearance. Mustaq Ahmed will remain as their head coach.
Significant changes include the appointment of Rovman Powell as captain of the Delhi Bulls, and Andy Flower’s return as head coach after a three-year absence. Two-time champions Northern Warriors will see Trent Boult take the captaincy from Angelo Mathews, while Dave Whatmore joins as their new head coach.
The Abu Dhabi team will be captained by Phil Salt, replacing Dwayne Pretorius, with Mark Boucher taking on head coaching duties. Rohan Mustafa will lead the Morrisville Samp Army, coached by Lance Klusener. Defending champions New York Strikers retain the services of Kieron Pollard and Carl Crowe as captain and coach, respectively. The Chennai Braves Jaguars have appointed Thisara Perera as captain and Chaminda Vaas as coach.
Two new teams, the UP Nawabs and Ajman Bolts, will also feature. Rahmatullah Gurbuz will lead the UP Nawabs, coached by Owais Shah, while Mohammad Nabi will captain the Ajman Bolts, under the guidance of Ottis Gibson.
The tournament begins on November 21st with a clash between the Abu Dhabi team and the Ajman Bolts. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with the top four teams progressing to the playoffs starting December 1st. The final will be held on December 2nd. A total of 179 international cricketers, including Dinesh Karthik and Trent Boult, will participate in this season’s Abu Dhabi T10. The league also announced a long ban on England club cricketer Rizwan Javed for match-fixing.
