**New Delhi:** The Delhi BJP has demanded a probe into the furnishings and resources used at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence, alleging significant discrepancies between resources provided by the Public Works Department (PWD) and the actual items found.
Delhi BJP President Virender Sachdeva, addressing a press conference, claimed that the lavish furnishings, including items reportedly exceeding the allocated budget, raise serious questions about the Chief Minister’s integrity. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, has written to the Lieutenant Governor urging an investigation.
The BJP alleges that despite PWD documents showing no work conducted at the residence since April 2022, expensive items, including those described as “gold-plated,” have appeared. This, the party asserts, points to potential corruption. The party criticized Kejriwal, calling him a “hypocrite” who projects an image of honesty while engaging in alleged corrupt practices. The accusations come amid preparations for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
