**New Delhi, October 26, 2024** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the notification for the December 2024 UGC NET examination. Online applications are now open and will be accepted until 11:50 PM on December 10, 2024. The examination is scheduled to be held between January 1, 2025, and January 19, 2025, subject to change only if announced by NTA.

Candidates can apply for the exam through the official NTA website. The detailed exam schedule, center details, and admit cards will be released closer to the exam date on the same website.

**Eligibility Criteria:**

* **Educational Qualifications:** Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. General category candidates require a minimum of 55% marks in their Master’s degree, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) need 50%.
* **Age Limit:** For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the upper age limit is 31 years. Reserved category candidates and women candidates are eligible for a 5-year relaxation. There is no age limit for the Assistant Professor category.
* **Subject Qualifications:** The candidate’s chosen subject in the UGC NET exam must align with their Master’s degree subject or a related field.
* **Final Year Students:** Candidates in their final year of their Master’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the results are announced.
* **PhD Candidates:** Candidates who have already completed their PhD are also eligible to appear for the UGC NET exam.
* **International Candidates:** International candidates can also apply but must ensure they meet the necessary visa requirements (a valid student visa is required).

**Application Fee:**

* General: ₹1150
* General, OBC, EWS: ₹600
* ST, SC, PwD, Transgender: ₹325
