**Rio de Janeiro, Brazil** – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a series of high-level meetings on the sidelines of the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He described his meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden as a “delight,” and also met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Modi expressed his gratitude to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for a warm welcome upon his arrival.

Modi’s participation in the summit comes as India plays a key role within the G20 Troika, alongside Brazil and South Africa. He is expected to advocate for India’s positions on critical global issues, building upon the outcomes of previous G20 and “Voice of the Global South” summits hosted by India.
