**Holalkere, Karnataka, November 17, 2024** – Two women died Sunday after the car they were travelling in plunged into a tank near Bommanakatte in Holalkere taluk. Anita (30) and her mother-in-law Rathnamma (55), both residents of Talya village, were pronounced dead at a Holalkere hospital.
The family, including Anita’s husband Manjunath, his aunt Manjula, and Rathnamma, were returning to their native village in Holalkere after attending a wedding in Chikkamagaluru district. Manjunath lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a stray dog, causing the car to veer off the road and into the tank.
Manjunath and Manjula survived the accident and were treated for injuries. Local residents assisted in rescuing the passengers and transporting them to the hospital. Holalkere police have registered a case.
