Mon Nov 18 13:51:14 UTC 2024: ## Bollywood Classic “Karan Arjun” Returns to Big Screen After 30 Years
**Mumbai, India –** Thirty years after its initial release, the iconic Bollywood film *Karan Arjun* is making a comeback to theaters nationwide on November 22nd. Director and producer Rakesh Roshan is orchestrating the re-release as a “social experiment,” aiming to gauge whether the film’s emotional impact resonates with today’s audiences.
The film’s journey to the big screen was far from smooth, as revealed by Roshan in an exclusive interview. The project initially faced skepticism, with some distributors pulling out due to the casting of two romantic heroes, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, in action roles. Adding to the challenges, the film went through several casting changes. Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan initially left the project due to creative differences regarding their roles, before eventually being replaced by Aamir Khan and Salman Khan respectively. Shah Rukh Khan later rejoined the project out of loyalty to Roshan. Hrithik Roshan served as an assistant director, marking his early foray into the film industry.
Roshan also highlighted the unique camaraderie among the cast, recalling a time before lavish vanity vans, where actors shared hairdressers, makeup artists, and meals, fostering a strong sense of teamwork. He believes a similar project with multiple superstars could be achieved today, provided the script equally balances the lead roles.
The film, originally titled *Kainaat*, underwent a name change to better connect with the audience. The re-release marks a significant milestone for the film and its creators, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane for long-time fans and a fresh introduction to a new generation of Bollywood enthusiasts.
