**Bengaluru, November 18, 2024** – Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has pledged to intervene in the ongoing strike by contract workers at Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). The workers, who have been protesting for 13 days, are demanding higher salaries and job security.
Kumaraswamy, speaking to the protesting workers on Sunday, stated he would meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss their grievances. He assured them that Singh holds a positive view towards Karnataka and that he had already spoken with BEML’s chairman and managing director.
While acknowledging that job confirmation isn’t within his direct control, the Minister expressed willingness to address other demands. He urged the workers to return to work, emphasizing that continued protests harm both the company and the nation. He promised to provide an update by Friday.
