Sun Nov 17 19:37:33 UTC 2024: ## Ernakulam Burglary Investigation: Kuruva Gang Link Unlikely, But Probe Continues
**KOCHI, November 18, 2024** – A special investigation team (SIT) probing a series of burglaries in North Paravur and Vadakkekara, Ernakulam district, is investigating a possible connection to the Kuruva gang. While the SIT, led by Munambam DySP, questioned a suspected Kuruva gang member arrested in Alappuzha on Saturday, the possibility of the same gang being responsible for the Ernakulam incidents is considered low due to the simultaneous timing of the Alappuzha and Ernakulam burglaries.
The SIT is exploring the possibility of involvement by associates of the Kuruva gang, known to operate across several Kerala districts. However, police are also considering the possibility that local burglars may be responsible. The modus operandi in the Ernakulam burglaries reportedly differed from the typical methods employed by the Kuruva gang.
Witnesses in North Paravur described one of the suspects as resembling Santhosh Selvam, arrested in Alappuzha on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on identifying the perpetrators and establishing a definitive link, if any, to the Kuruva gang.
