**Bengaluru, November 18, 2024** – The Dementia India Alliance (DIA) is organizing a “Dementia Tech Thinkathon” in Bengaluru on November 30th, offering tech startups and students the chance to develop innovative solutions for dementia care. The event, part of the two-day DemCon’24 international conference at IISc, aims to leverage technology to improve the lives of those affected by dementia.
DIA president Radha S Murthy highlighted the crucial role of technology in advancing dementia care, stating the Thinkathon will be a catalyst for groundbreaking innovations. Winners will receive over ₹2.5 lakh in prize money, along with incubation support and potential investment opportunities.
DemCon’24, themed “reaching the unreached in dementia care,” will bring together caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to address gaps in awareness, diagnosis, and treatment. Speakers from NIMHANS, the Centre for Brain Research, and international experts are expected to participate.
The event, organized in collaboration with IIIT-B and Nucleus Software Engineers, is open to family caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, senior citizens, service providers, and students in relevant fields.
