Hobart, Australia – Australia completed a dominant 3-0 clean sweep of their T20 series against Pakistan with a seven-wicket victory in the final match on Monday. Chasing a paltry 118, the Australian team reached the target in just 11.2 overs, showcasing their superior batting and bowling prowess.
Pakistan, who had earlier won the ODI series 2-1, struggled throughout the T20 leg, failing to put up a competitive fight in any of the three matches. Their innings on Monday was hampered by a collapse of the batting order, with seven batsmen dismissed for single-digit scores. Former captain Babar Azam was the top scorer for Pakistan with a 41-run knock, but it was insufficient to prevent a heavy defeat. Aaron Hardie led the Australian bowling attack with three wickets, while Ashton Agar and Spencer Johnson each claimed two.
Australia’s openers, Matthew Short and Jack Prasser, made early exits, but Marcus Stoinis’ explosive 61 runs off just 27 balls, including five fours and five sixes, sealed the victory for the home side. Pakistan’s bowling was ineffective, with Shaheen Shah Afridi conceding 43 runs in just three overs, while Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi also leaked runs at a high rate.
The series concludes Pakistan’s tour of Australia, which began on November 4th. Australia will now face India in a five-Test series starting November 22nd.
