**HYDERABAD, INDIA** – Aha Video, the Telugu-language over-the-top (OTT) platform owned by the Allu family, reported a significant loss of ₹105 crore (approximately $12.7 million USD) for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. While the company saw a 9% increase in revenue compared to the previous year, reaching ₹137 crore, its expenses totaled ₹242 crore, resulting in the substantial deficit.
Aha, known as the first Telugu OTT platform, has gained popularity for offering a range of original films and web series at a relatively low budget. Despite its success in attracting users, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, the platform’s operational costs have outpaced its revenue generation.
While the company highlighted the increase in revenue from ₹122 crore in 2022-23 to ₹137 crore in 2023-24, the substantial operating expenditure ultimately led to the reported loss. Although the loss is smaller than the ₹120 crore loss incurred in the previous fiscal year, it still represents a significant challenge for the platform. Aha has expanded its content offerings to include Tamil programming in an attempt to boost viewership and revenue.
