Mon Nov 18 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Retired IAS Officer Denies His Statements Led to Chandrababu’s Arrest

**Amaravati, November 18, 2024** – Retired IAS officer P.V. Ramesh has vehemently denied claims that his previous statements to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) formed the basis for the arrest of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Ramesh stated in a recent interview that his statements to the magistrate and police contained no information that would justify Naidu’s arrest.

Ramesh expressed concern and dismay over CID officials’ assertions linking his statements to Naidu’s apprehension. He clarified that the CID’s interpretation of his notes regarding the Skill Development Corporation and funding to DesignTech was inaccurate and misleading. He emphasized that the corporation’s establishment was approved by the cabinet and funds were allocated according to regulations. He further refuted allegations of missing files, stating that neither the Chief Minister, ministers, nor secretaries are responsible for the safekeeping of all files and that any missing files should be investigated separately.

Ramesh defended Naidu’s tenure, highlighting his achievements in bringing substantial loans for development projects within two years of the state’s bifurcation. He affirmed his respect for Naidu and reiterated that his own statements provided no grounds for arrest. He described the use of his notes as a basis for the arrest as absurd and questioned the criminalization of budgetary allocations approved by the legislature and finance department.
