Sun Nov 17 14:54:58 UTC 2024: ## AAP MP Accuses BJP of Forcing Delhi Minister’s Resignation
**New Delhi:** A political storm has erupted in Delhi following the resignation of Cabinet Minister Kailash Gahlot from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the party itself, just before the upcoming Assembly elections. Speculation is rife that Gahlot may join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
AAP MP Sanjay Singh has strongly condemned Gahlot’s resignation, alleging it was a result of BJP pressure tactics. Singh, without naming Gahlot directly, referred to the BJP’s actions as “Modi Washing Powder,” implying that those joining the BJP are “cleaned” of their past actions.
Singh accused the BJP government of targeting Gahlot with multiple Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax raids, claiming these actions were designed to intimidate and force his resignation. He further alleged that the BJP had leveled corruption charges against Gahlot, amounting to ₹112 crore, to exert pressure. Singh stated that Gahlot was left with no choice but to resign and potentially join the BJP.
The AAP maintains that Gahlot’s departure is part of a larger BJP conspiracy to destabilize the Delhi government ahead of the elections. Gahlot’s recent change of profile picture on X (formerly Twitter) has further fueled speculation about his political allegiance.
