**Chennai, November 16, 2024** – A 20-year-old woman in Chennai has reported being sexually assaulted and robbed of nearly ₹1 lakh by an employee of a mobile phone showroom. The St. Thomas Mount All Women Police arrested the suspect, identified as Uma Mahesh, on Thursday. According to police, Mahesh contacted the complainant in August, posing a job opportunity. He lured her to a railway station and subsequently took her to a house where the assault and robbery occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
