Sat Nov 16 08:21:06 IST 2024: ## Paswan Reclaims Family Bungalow, Consolidates Political Power

**Patna, Bihar, November 16, 2024** – Union Minister Chirag Paswan has taken possession of a government bungalow in Patna, formerly occupied by his late father’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). The building’s allocation marks a significant boost to Paswan’s political standing following his party, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), winning all five seats contested in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The bungalow, located near key government buildings and the airport, served as the LJP headquarters until a party split following Ram Vilas Paswan’s death. It was subsequently occupied by the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, led by Paswan’s uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. Paras, who had initially received the bungalow after the party split and also secured a ministerial position, lost his political standing after the BJP-led NDA backed Paswan in the recent elections.

Paswan emphasized that he hadn’t previously demanded the bungalow’s return, despite his party operating from his private residence for the past three years due to a lack of official office space. He attributed the delay to government regulations requiring a minimum number of elected officials for party office allocation. The recent Lok Sabha success allowed his party to re-apply and secure the premises.

Paswan expressed gratitude to the Bihar state government and highlighted the bungalow’s sentimental value as the place where he launched his political career. He also affirmed that despite his past differences with his uncle, he harbored no ill will. The reclaimed bungalow will now serve as the LJP(RV) headquarters, aiding in preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections in which the party plans to support the NDA.
