Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: The father of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, Jagdish Singh Patani, has filed a police complaint alleging a ₹25 lakh fraud. Patani, a retired Deputy SP, claims he was duped by a group of five individuals who promised to secure him a high-ranking position in a government commission.
According to the FIR filed on November 15th at the Bareilly Kotwali police station, the accused – Shivendraprap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayprakash (from the Juna Akhada), Preeti Garg, and an unidentified individual – allegedly leveraged their purported political connections to convince Patani to pay them the sum. Patani transferred ₹20 lakh through three different bank accounts and handed over ₹5 lakh in cash.
When Patani didn’t receive the promised position after three months and demanded a refund, the accused allegedly began threatening him. Police have registered a case under charges of fraud, criminal intimidation, and extortion. Investigations are underway to apprehend the accused and recover the funds.
