**Chennai, November 15, 2024:** Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam has accused the ruling DMK government of breaking its electoral promise to regularize the services of anganwadi workers and grant them periodic pay.
Panneerselvam, in a statement released Thursday, highlighted the DMK’s 2021 election manifesto, which promised to address the needs of anganwadi workers and those involved in the midday meal scheme. He pointed out that over 42 months have passed since the DMK came to power, yet these promises remain unfulfilled.
Urging the Chief Minister to take immediate action, Panneerselvam stated, “The non-implementation of these promises after such a long period suggests that they were merely election rhetoric used to secure power.”
