**New Delhi, November 14, 2024:** Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has voiced her concern over the alarming air pollution levels in Delhi, describing the city as a “gas chamber.” Gandhi, who recently returned to Delhi from Wayanad, Kerala, where the air quality is significantly better, expressed shock at the thick smog enveloping the national capital.
“Coming back to Delhi from Wayanad, where the air is beautiful and the AQI is 35, was like entering a gas chamber,” Gandhi stated on X, formerly Twitter. She emphasized that Delhi’s pollution worsens every year and called for a collective effort to find solutions for cleaner air.
“It’s beyond this party or that, it’s practically impossible to breathe especially for kids, elders and those with respiratory issues. We just have to do something about it,” she added.
Gandhi’s comments highlight the urgent need for action to address the ongoing air pollution crisis in Delhi. The city’s air quality has reached the “severe” category, posing significant health risks to its residents.
