**Lahore, Pakistan:** Pakistani TikTok star Imsha Rehman has deactivated all her social media accounts following the viral spread of a private video. While many online users accused her of intentionally releasing the video for publicity, Rehman claims to be a victim of a data breach. This incident mirrors a similar controversy involving another Pakistani influencer, Minahil Malik, whose private video with her boyfriend also surfaced online in October.
Rehman, known for her engaging content on TikTok and other platforms, took to social media before deactivating her accounts to express her distress over the negative backlash. She reportedly described the criticism as overwhelming. Screenshots of her private video have been circulating widely on social media, even being turned into memes.
Following the controversy, a screenshot allegedly from Rehman’s TikTok account is circulating online, where she is quoted as saying, “Till the time the video is viral, I have deactivated my account.”
Meanwhile, Minahil Malik, who faced intense online trolling after a similar incident, has reportedly quit Instagram. She initially claimed the video was fake and filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). However, social media users accused her of fabricating the claim and intentionally leaking the video for fame.
Pakistani actress Mishi Khan further fueled the controversy by criticizing influencers for resorting to such tactics for fame. While she didn’t directly mention Malik, her statements were widely perceived as directed at her.
Both Rehman and Malik are prominent figures in Pakistan’s online community, highlighting a growing concern about the potential for data breaches and the negative impact of online shaming.
