Tue Nov 12 14:39:36 UTC 2024: ## India Refuses to Travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy, Hybrid Model Proposed

**New Delhi, India:** The Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for February 19th to March 9th, 2024, due to security concerns. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of its decision.

In response, the ICC has proposed a “Hybrid Model” where India’s matches would be played in the UAE and the final would be held in Dubai. The PCB would still receive full hosting fees and the majority of the matches.

However, the PCB has stated that they may withdraw entirely from hosting the tournament if their hosting rights are stripped. The matter has been forwarded to the Pakistan government for advice and guidance.

The Pakistan government may also direct the PCB to refuse playing against India in future ICC or Asian Cricket Council tournaments until issues between the two nations are resolved.

The ICC awaits a response from the PCB on the proposed Hybrid Model.
