Mon Nov 11 12:40:15 UTC 2024: ## Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Face Questionnaire in GBP 190 Million Settlement Case

**Islamabad, Pakistan** – Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have been presented with a 14-page questionnaire by a Pakistani court in connection with a GBP 190 million settlement case. The questionnaire, containing 79 questions related to the Al-Qadir Trust case, was handed to Khan and Bibi in the latest hearing on Sunday, November 10th.

The court alleges that Khan and his wife facilitated a property tycoon, causing a loss of GBP 190 million (over PKR 50 billion) to the Pakistani state. The questionnaire asks Khan if he and his associates illegally benefited from the deal, including receiving land worth PKR 50 billion, in exchange for facilitating the transfer of GBP 171.159 million from the UK. The court claims that Khan, in his capacity as Prime Minister, pushed for a settlement with the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) without disclosing the details of a confidential agreement. This deal supposedly involved the property tycoon’s black money being transferred to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Al-Qadir Trust, a charitable organization founded by Khan and Bibi, stands accused of receiving land from the property tycoon to establish an educational institute called Al-Qadir University. The court alleges that this land transfer was a quid pro quo for Khan facilitating the tycoon’s black money being returned to Pakistan via the NCA settlement.

Khan’s legal team has been granted until Monday to respond to the questionnaire. The couple’s legal team has already concluded cross-examination of witnesses, bringing the case closer to a conclusion. This case, along with the Toshakhana corruption case, continues to dominate the Pakistani political landscape, further compounding the already tense situation in the country.
