Mon Nov 11 23:08:38 UTC 2024: ## Meja Dam Water Distribution Committee Meeting: Irrigation Water to be Released from November 11th
**Bhilwara, November 6th:** A meeting of the Meja Dam Water Distribution Committee was held on Wednesday at the District Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Om Prakash Mehra.
The meeting focused on addressing the concerns of farmers regarding the upcoming irrigation season. Farmers raised concerns about obstructions and leakages in the main canal and requested the department to clean and repair the canals.
The committee decided to release irrigation water into the canals starting November 11th. The administration will appoint officers to monitor the water distribution to ensure that farmers receive water uninterruptedly until the end of the canals.
The meeting also addressed the issue of water wastage due to leaks in the canals. Farmers urged the department to repair these leaks and prevent further wastage. The committee directed the department to conduct repair and cleaning operations in the presence of local representatives or farmers.
The Executive Engineer (XE) of the Water Resources Department, C.L. Koli, presented information about the Meja Major Irrigation Project. He explained that due to the good monsoon season in 2024-25, the Meja Dam has reached 26.30 feet (2018.99 MCFT) out of its total capacity of 30 feet. * Public Health Engineering Department: 200 MCFT
* Meja Dam: 109 MCFT
* Water for leakage: 341.99 MCFT
* Water for irrigation: 1367.99 MCFT
The plan is to release 16 MCFT of water daily into the two main canals (right and left). With 1367.99 MCFT of water available, the canal operation will last for approximately 85 days. The water will be released as follows:
* **Left Main Canal:**
