Tue Nov 12 12:09:07 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Seeks Clarity from ICC on Champions Trophy 2025 Amid India’s Travel Concerns
**KARACHI, PAKISTAN -** The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is demanding clarity from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy, following India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
The PCB confirmed that they have received an email from the ICC informing them of India’s decision. The PCB has subsequently forwarded this email to the Pakistani government for further advice.
“The PCB wants the ICC to come out clear on its future plans,” a PCB source told The New Indian Express. “We will be writing to the ICC this week seeking clarifications.”
This situation mirrors the 2023 Asia Cup, where India also declined to travel to Pakistan. A hybrid model was ultimately adopted, with India playing their matches in Sri Lanka. Currently, speculation suggests Sri Lanka and Dubai could be alternative venues for India’s matches in the Champions Trophy, although the Emirates Cricket Board denies any knowledge of this at this time.
The PCB source emphasized that they are only aware of India’s refusal to travel and that no alternate plans have been discussed.
India’s last tour of Pakistan was in 2008, with political tensions and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks hindering bilateral series since then. Despite the political climate, the two teams have competed in ICC and Asian Cricket Council tournaments, with Pakistan most recently travelling to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
The PCB awaits the ICC’s response and the Pakistani government’s guidance on how to proceed with the 2025 Champions Trophy.
