**Lucknow, India:** The Lucknow Super Giants have retained five key players ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 auction. The franchise has decided to keep Nicholas Pooran (₹21 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (₹11 crore), Mayank Yadav (₹11 crore), Mohsin Khan (₹4 crore), and Ayush Badoni (₹4 crore) for the next season.

While the team has retained some of its star players, the focus now shifts to former captain KL Rahul. Rahul, who guided the team to playoffs in two out of three seasons, has expressed his desire for a fresh start and more freedom. He hinted at a potential move to a new franchise, with rumors suggesting Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is interested in acquiring him.

“I wanted a fresh start, I wanted to explore my options and play where I could get some freedom, where the team environment is a little lighter,” Rahul said. “Sometimes you need to move away to find something good for yourself.”

Rahul also emphasized his focus on returning to the Indian T20 team. “I’ve been out of the T20 team for a while and I know where I stand as a player, I know what I need to do to come back,” he said. “I’ll wait for this IPL season to get that platform back to enjoy my cricket and my goal is definitely to return to the Indian T20 team.”

The IPL 2025 auction is set to be a thrilling event with several teams looking to strengthen their squads and potentially welcoming new faces like KL Rahul to their ranks.
