Mon Nov 11 05:31:01 UTC 2024: ## Zomato Launches “Food Rescue” Feature to Reduce Food Waste, CEO Engages with User Feedback

**New Delhi, November 11, 2024** – Zomato, the popular food delivery platform, has introduced a new feature called “Food Rescue” aimed at minimizing food waste. Announced by CEO Deepinder Goyal on X (formerly Twitter), the feature redirects canceled orders to nearby customers who can purchase them at discounted prices.

Goyal explained that customers will see pop-up notifications for cancelled orders in their area, offering them the opportunity to acquire the original, untampered food at a lower cost within minutes.

The initiative has received positive feedback from X users, with many praising its potential to combat food wastage. However, one user, Bhanu, shared insightful suggestions to prevent potential misuse of the feature. Bhanu’s recommendations included restricting the feature to pre-paid orders, disallowing cancellations once deliveries reach 500 meters from the delivery point, limiting the number of cancellations per user, and addressing the possibility of users exploiting the system for discounts.

Impressed by Bhanu’s thoughtfulness, Goyal responded that all the suggestions were already being implemented. He expressed interest in collaborating with Bhanu further, requesting his contact information for a potential partnership.

In response, Bhanu, a product manager in a start-up company, revealed his regular usage of Zomato and its competitor Blinkit, highlighting his commitment to improving service delivery through constructive criticism on social media.

This latest initiative showcases Zomato’s commitment to sustainability and its willingness to engage with user feedback to enhance its platform. It is noteworthy that Goyal has consistently been active on social media, engaging with users and addressing their concerns.
