Mon Nov 11 16:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Rashid Khan Avoids Head Injury in Close Call During Afghanistan-Bangladesh ODI

**Sharjah, UAE:** A potentially serious incident occurred during the third and deciding ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz narrowly avoided colliding with Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan while fielding a ball, with Gurbaz’s knee scraping Khan’s head.

The incident occurred during Bangladesh’s innings, which saw them post a competitive total of 244/8. While footage of the near-miss shows Gurbaz attempting to jump over Khan, his knee grazed Khan’s head before his boot luckily only dislodged the spinner’s hat.

Earlier, Afghanistan’s bowlers had taken four early wickets, putting them in a strong position. However, a 145-run partnership between Mehidy Hasan Miraz (66) and Mahmudullah Riyad (98) brought Bangladesh back into the contest.

Azmatullah Omarzai led the Afghan bowling attack with four wickets, while Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan also contributed with wickets of their own.
