Mon Nov 11 13:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Five Comedians Vie for Grammy’s Best Comedy Album

Five prominent comedians are vying for the prestigious Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Ricky Gervais, Dave Chappelle, Jim Gaffigan, Nikki Glaser, and Trevor Noah are the nominees announced on Friday morning.

Gervais, Chappelle, and Noah are recognized for their Netflix specials “Armageddon,” “The Dreamer,” and “Where Was I,” respectively. Glaser receives a nod for her HBO special “Someday You’ll Die,” while Gaffigan is nominated for his album “The Prisoner,” which is not a stand-up special but a recorded release.

This nomination marks a career milestone for Gervais and Glaser, as they are both first-time nominees. Glaser’s recent popularity soared after her performance in Netflix’s “Tom Brady Roast.”

Among the nominees, Chappelle is a Grammy veteran with five wins out of six nominations, including last year’s award for “Dave Chappelle: What’s In A Name?”. Noah has two Grammys to his name, including one from last year for “Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would.” He has also hosted the ceremony four times, including in 2024. Gaffigan is aiming for his first Grammy win after seven previous nominations.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2nd, airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The winner of the Best Comedy Album will be revealed during the ceremony.
