The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the deadline for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme registration to November 15th. This initiative, designed to provide professional development opportunities for young individuals, aims to benefit 10 million people over the next five years.
The scheme offers 80,000 internship opportunities across 24 sectors, with leading companies like Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Tata Group, and Jubilant FoodWorks participating. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, with Rs 500 contributed by the host company and Rs 4,500 provided by the government.
To be eligible, candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 24 and have completed High School or Higher Secondary School. They must also hold an ITI certificate, a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a degree such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or B Pharma.
Applicants can register through the official portal, pminternship.mca.gov.in. The registration process involves creating a profile, submitting required details, and applying for up to five internship opportunities based on preferences for location, sector, and qualifications.
The scheme adheres to reservation policies for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). This initiative provides a valuable platform for young individuals to gain practical experience, develop skills, and contribute to the growth of the Indian economy.
