**Gaza City, November 10, 2024:** Two Israeli airstrikes on Sunday targeted houses in northern Gaza, killing at least 30 people, including 13 children, and injuring over 30 others, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. The first strike hit a home in Jabalia, killing “at least 25” people, while a second strike in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City claimed five lives.
The Israeli military has been conducting a sustained air and ground offensive in northern Gaza since October 6, claiming to target Hamas militants who are regrouping in the area. The latest strikes come amid a wider conflict that began with Hamas’s surprise attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
The conflict has resulted in a devastating toll, with over 1,206 deaths in Israel, mainly civilians, according to an AFP count of Israeli official figures. Gaza’s Health Ministry, deemed reliable by the United Nations, reports 43,552 deaths in the territory, with most being civilians.
The civil defense agency in Gaza stated that several civilians remain trapped under the rubble following the strikes. The ongoing conflict has caused widespread displacement and destruction in both Gaza and Israel.
