**Chennai, November 11, 2024:** The Chennai City Police have made a significant arrest in their ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking. Four young men were apprehended in Thoraipakkam’s IT corridor on charges of possessing methamphetamine for sale.
Acting on a tip, a special police team led by the Thoraipakkam Police Inspector conducted surveillance on 200 Feet Road, where the suspects were found acting suspiciously. Upon inspection, the police seized 6 grams of methamphetamine, 10 MDM tablets, and four mobile phones.
The arrested individuals were identified as L. Lokesh (24), S. Devanathan (27), S. Rajesh (24), and Allan Gregory (25). They were remanded in judicial custody by the jurisdictional court.
This arrest comes as part of the Chennai City Police’s ongoing campaign to combat the smuggling and sale of illicit substances, following directives from City Police Commissioner A. Arun. The police have been conducting frequent raids across the city to curb the spread of drugs like ganja and synthetic drugs.
