Mon Nov 11 11:01:27 UTC 2024: ## Former BRS MLA Summoned in Phone Tapping Case
**Hyderabad, November 11, 2024:** The Jubilee Hills police have issued notices to former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah in connection with the ongoing phone tapping case. Lingaiah is expected to be questioned at the Jubilee Hills ACP office on Monday regarding new evidence that surfaced in a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report.
The FSL report allegedly revealed a line of communication between Lingaiah and Mekala Thirupathanna, a suspended additional superintendent of police, who is already implicated in the case.
This case originally came to light in March 2024 with the arrest of Former DSP of Special Intelligence Branch Praneeth Rao by the Panjagutta police. Rao was apprehended based on a complaint filed by his superior, D. Ramesh, Additional SP with the SIB.
The investigation continues as the police delve deeper into the alleged phone tapping activities.
