Mon Nov 11 13:04:19 UTC 2024: ## Bangladesh Clinches Victory Over Afghanistan by 68 Runs

**DHAKA, BANGLADESH -** Bangladesh secured a comprehensive 68-run victory over Afghanistan in their recent ODI clash, showcasing dominant performances both with the bat and the ball.

Bangladesh’s first innings saw a strong foundation laid by Najmul Hossain Shanto (76 runs off 119 balls) and Jaker Ali (37 runs off 27 balls). They ultimately set a formidable target of 253 runs for Afghanistan to chase.

In reply, Afghanistan’s chase was thwarted by a stellar bowling performance from Bangladesh. Nasum Ahmed (3 wickets for 28 runs) and Mehidy Hasan (2 wickets for 37 runs) were particularly effective in dismantling the Afghan batting order. Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s star spinner, offered valiant resistance with 52 runs off 76 balls, but it wasn’t enough to salvage the chase.

The key moment came in the 43rd over when Ghazanfar, attempting a wild swing at a full delivery, missed completely and was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman. This dismissal marked the end of Afghanistan’s innings and Bangladesh’s victory.

The win strengthens Bangladesh’s position in the ODI rankings, while Afghanistan will be hoping to bounce back in their next match.
