**New Delhi, India** – Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading car manufacturer, is set to launch the fourth generation of its popular sub-compact sedan, the Dzire, on November 11th. This new model promises to reignite interest in the segment, which has seen a decline in popularity due to the growing demand for SUVs.
The 2024 Dzire features a completely redesigned exterior and interior, setting it apart from its predecessors and even its sibling, the Swift. The front boasts modern, sleek LED headlamps, a refreshed bumper, and a premium seven-slat chrome grille. The rear also receives an update with redesigned bumpers and tail lamps. While the side profile retains a similar look, it adopts a flatter design and new 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Dzire shares its cabin with the 2024 Swift, including a similar dashboard layout. However, it receives a significant upgrade with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is further enhanced by a new electric sunroof, making its debut in this segment. Other noteworthy features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a rear armrest with cup holders. For convenience, the Dzire offers dual charging ports at the rear and a wireless charger up front.
The biggest highlight of the 2024 Dzire is its enhanced safety credentials. It has achieved a remarkable five-star Global NCAP safety rating, making it the first Maruti model to achieve this distinction. This is attributed to its standard six airbags and other safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree camera.
The 2024 Dzire is powered by the brand’s new Z-series 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 80 bhp and 111 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic manual transmission. The company claims fuel efficiency figures of 24.79 kmpl for the manual and 25.71 kmpl for the AMT.
With its comprehensive upgrades and enhanced safety features, the 2024 Dzire is expected to command a slightly higher price than its predecessor. While the current generation Dzire is priced between ₹6.57 lakh and ₹9.39 lakh (ex-showroom), the new model is expected to start at ₹7 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki is confident that the 2024 Dzire, with its focus on safety, features, and design, will appeal to a wider audience and revitalize the sub-compact sedan segment in India.
