Mon Nov 11 10:46:15 UTC 2024: ## Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das Omitted From Bangladesh ODI Squad for Afghanistan Series
**Dhaka, Bangladesh** – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, with notable absences of star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and opening batsman Liton Das.
Shakib, who has opted out of the series, has been surprisingly excluded from the squad. Liton Das is unavailable due to illness, recovering from a bout of fever. Right-arm pacer Hasan Mahmud, who has been battling a shoulder injury, is also not included in the team.
Captaincy responsibilities will remain with Nazmul Hussain Shanto, while experienced all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be the vice-captain.
The squad features a new face in the form of uncapped pacer Nahid Rana, who has played five Test matches. Batsman Zakir Hasan and spinner Nasum Ahmed have also been included in the team.
Zakir Hasan, who made his ODI debut in September 2022, has only played one ODI, while Nasum Ahmed last played in November 2023.
