Sun Nov 10 00:05:00 UTC 2024: ## Jadeja: India’s 0-3 Loss to New Zealand a “Wake-Up Call,” But Confident of Border-Gavaskar Trophy Victory

**Jaipur, November 10, 2024** – Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has called the recent 0-3 home series loss to New Zealand a “wake-up call,” but remains confident in India’s ability to bounce back and win the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Speaking at the Sportstar Sports Conclave in Rajasthan, Jadeja expressed his support for captain Rohit Sharma, who faced criticism after the New Zealand series, emphasizing India’s depth and experience.

“We may not reach the World Test Championship final, but I believe we can secure the series win,” Jadeja stated. He highlighted the team’s extensive experience playing in Australia, a significant advantage compared to previous tours. “Now, with nothing to lose, we’ll be a dangerous side.”

Jadeja also praised the impact of wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, calling him “freakish and brilliant” and attributing his success to his unique style of play. He cautioned, however, against stifling Pant’s creativity, warning that controlling such players could diminish their brilliance.

Jadeja further emphasized the importance of mental strength in international cricket, citing Jasprit Bumrah’s resilience as a prime example. “At that stage, it’s about training your mind, not just your body,” he said, highlighting Bumrah’s perseverance despite being advised to change his bowling action as a teenager.

Despite the recent setback against New Zealand, Jadeja remains optimistic about India’s chances in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He believes the team’s experience, leadership, and mental toughness will lead them to victory in Australia.
