Sun Nov 10 02:24:14 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Smash England in Series Decider with Carty’s Maiden Century

**Bridgetown, Barbados:** Keacy Carty’s spectacular maiden century powered West Indies to a resounding victory in the third and final ODI against England, securing a 2-1 series win for the home side. Carty’s unbeaten 128 off 114 balls, punctuated by 11 fours and two sixes, was the centerpiece of a dominant West Indies performance.

The match was effectively decided in a 209-run partnership between Carty and Brandon King, who also reached a century – his third in ODIs but first against a Test-playing nation. King’s 102 off 113 balls helped West Indies amass a formidable 267-2, a target England proved incapable of chasing down.

England’s batting was once again a cause for concern, with only Dan Mousley (57) showing any real resistance. Phil Salt (35) and Jamie Overton (28) also made useful contributions, but the team’s collapse from 24-4 in the powerplay proved too much to overcome.

Carty’s performance, which included a crucial review on 13 that allowed him to continue his innings, was a highlight of the match. His aggressive and skillful batting showcased his potential and cemented his place in the West Indies side.

England will need to address their batting woes ahead of the upcoming Test tour to New Zealand. However, there were some positives for the visitors, with Overton showing promise with both bat and ball, potentially earning him a place in the Test squad.

The two teams will now shift their focus to the five-match T20 series starting on Saturday.
