Perth, Australia – Australia has unveiled a 13-member squad for the first Test match of the five-match series against India, starting in Perth on November 22. The squad features two exciting new additions: **Nathan McSweeney and Josh Inglis**, both of whom have been handed maiden Test call-ups.
McSweeney is expected to make his Test debut in the opening encounter, while Inglis joins the squad as a reserve batsman and backup wicketkeeper. The rest of the squad features the usual suspects, including captain Pat Cummins, the experienced pace trio of Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and Scott Boland, as well as specialist spinner Nathan Lyon.
The squad also includes in-form batsman Alex Carey, who is currently leading the Sheffield Shield run-scoring charts with two centuries and a half-century.
Both McSweeney and Inglis have enjoyed strong domestic seasons, with Inglis currently fourth on the Shield run-scorers list and McSweeney one spot behind him. McSweeney, who impressed during recent unofficial Test matches against India A, was ultimately chosen over young Sam Konstas for the opener’s spot.
The series promises to be a fierce battle between two of the world’s top Test teams, with the Australians aiming to build on their recent success.
