**New Delhi, India** – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday expressed concern over the increasing trend of demonizing constitutional institutions and sermonizing the public, calling it a “recipe for chaos.” He cautioned that this behavior, even by those holding constitutional positions, is detrimental to the country’s well-being.
“It is time to bid adieu to this,” Dhankhar said while addressing an educational institution. He urged those in positions of power to “be a worthy elite” driven by a “fervour of nationalism.”
The Vice President also emphasized the crucial role of alumni in supporting educational institutions. He encouraged active participation in alumni associations and the establishment of alumni funds to bolster research and innovation.
“The alumni of an institution are in several ways its lifeline,” Dhankhar said. “Making annual contributions is all important. Some of the best institutions globally have been on an upward trajectory because these institutions are fuelled by alumni energy.”
He further called for the involvement of trade, industry, business, and commerce associations in funding research and innovation through financial contributions.
