Sun Nov 10 06:38:18 UTC 2024: ## BJP Unveils Manifesto, Promises Economic Growth and Welfare in Maharashtra Elections

**Mumbai, India:** Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s manifesto, “Sankalp Patra,” on Sunday, setting the stage for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The manifesto was unveiled in the presence of key BJP leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

The BJP is contesting the elections as part of the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Shah emphasized the alliance’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, women, and the poor. He highlighted the Mahayuti government’s achievements in these areas and stated that the manifesto reflects the aspirations of the people of Maharashtra.

He also reiterated the BJP’s ambitious target of making India the world’s third-largest economy by 2027, citing the government’s successes in providing affordable housing, electricity, healthcare, and other essential services.

Taking a dig at the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, Shah criticized their track record of unfulfilled promises in other states and urged voters to trust the Mahayuti’s commitments.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting taking place on November 23. The political battle between the Mahayuti and the MVA, which comprises the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), is expected to be fierce.
