Sat Nov 09 04:24:17 UTC 2024: ## NASA Confirms Astronaut Sunita Williams is in Good Health

**Houston, Texas** – Following media reports speculating about the health of astronaut Sunita Williams, NASA has issued a statement confirming that she is in good health.

Rumors had circulated in tabloids such as the Daily Mail and the New York Times, citing a doctor’s analysis of a photo taken on September 24th, suggesting that Williams was unwell aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

In an official email statement released on November 7th, NASA addressed these concerns directly. “There is no cause for concern, and Sunita is doing well,” the agency confirmed.

Williams, currently the commander of Expedition 72 on the ISS, is “in good health,” NASA emphasized. The agency further stated that there are no health concerns regarding any of the astronauts currently on the station.

The ISS currently houses four NASA astronauts and three Russian cosmonauts. “All NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station are undergoing regular medical checks,” the statement added. “Dedicated flight surgeons are monitoring their health, and they are all doing well.”

Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore were originally scheduled to return to Earth in 7-10 days after arriving on the ISS on June 6th aboard a Boeing Starliner spacecraft. However, technical issues with the spacecraft forced them to stay on board.

After a series of attempts, NASA decided to bring the Starliner back to Earth unmanned on September 6th. Williams and Wilmore are now scheduled to remain on the ISS until February 2025, returning with the SpaceX Crew-9 mission.
