**Mumbai, India:** The Indian box office has seen a roaring start to the month with the successful releases of “Singham Again” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” both films setting new records and defying expectations.
The two Bollywood blockbusters combined for a whopping Rs 500 crore gross worldwide in their first week, a feat unmatched by any other Hindi films this year. This achievement is only overshadowed by the combined success of “Animal” and “Sam Bahadur” last year, which garnered Rs 600 crore gross worldwide in their first week.
“Singham Again,” starring Ajay Devgn, broke records for both the actor and director Rohit Shetty. It emerged as the biggest first-week grosser for both of them, becoming the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 in its opening week. The film raked in Rs 207 crore gross and Rs 173 crore nett domestically, adding another Rs 53 crore from international markets for a total of Rs 260 crore gross.
Meanwhile, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” starring Kartik Aaryan, also delivered a solid performance, boasting a strong first week both domestically and globally. The film collected around Rs 190 crore gross with Rs 158 crore nett within India, and an additional Rs 50 crore gross from overseas markets, reaching a total of Rs 240 crore gross worldwide.
With a clean window in the Bollywood release schedule for at least a month, both films are expected to continue their impressive run at the box office. The second weekend has just begun, and both “Singham Again” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” are on track to cross the Rs 300 crore mark by the end of the week.
