**Karachi, Pakistan:** The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the Indian cricket team will not be traveling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held between February 19th and March 9th.
The tournament is set to take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, but the BCCI has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to relocate India’s matches to Dubai.
“This has been our stance and there is no reason to change that. We have written to them and asked them to shift our games to Dubai,” stated a BCCI source to the Indian Express.
This decision comes after a similar stance by the BCCI during the Asia Cup 2023, where they successfully secured their matches to be held in Sri Lanka despite Pakistan’s attempts to host them.
While other international teams like England and Bangladesh have recently toured Pakistan for bilateral series, India’s last visit to Pakistan was for the 2008 Asia Cup.
Currently, the Indian team is preparing for the upcoming Test series against Australia, starting on November 22nd.
With the ICC Champions Trophy still two years away, the PCB will need to work out a solution with the BCCI to ensure the tournament’s success.
