Sat Nov 09 15:46:31 UTC 2024: ## East Bengal Suffers Double Red Card Debacle in ISL Loss

**Kolkata, India** – East Bengal FC endured a disastrous first half in their Indian Super League (ISL) match against Mohammedan Sporting on Saturday, losing two players to red cards within a 30-minute span.

The first red card was given to Nandhakumar Sekar after he slapped Amarjit Singh Kiyam following a foul. While both players initially received yellow cards, the referee upgraded Sekar’s to a straight red after consulting with his assistants.

The second red card went to Naorem Mahesh Singh after he kicked the ball away in anger following the first dismissal. This marked the first time an ISL team had received two red cards in the first half of a match.

The double red card left East Bengal with only nine players on the field, severely impacting their chances against Mohammedan Sporting. This disappointing performance adds to East Bengal’s struggles this season, which include a loss to a second-division side in the Durand Cup semifinal and a winless streak in all competitions.

With six losses in as many ISL matches, East Bengal currently sits at the bottom of the table. Head coach Oscar Bruzon faces the uphill task of turning the team’s fortunes around amidst this early season crisis.
