Fri Nov 08 14:49:20 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Pacer Alzarri Joseph Suspended for On-Field Outburst

**Bridgetown, Barbados:** West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph has been handed a two-match ban following an unprecedented on-field incident during the third ODI against England on Wednesday. Joseph, known for his fiery bowling style, was involved in a heated exchange with captain Shai Hope regarding a field change during the fourth over of the English innings.

The incident escalated when Joseph, after dismissing Jordan Cox later in the same over, stormed off the field without informing anyone, leaving his team with just 10 players. This left both the team and spectators in a state of shock and disbelief.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) swiftly condemned Joseph’s actions, deeming them a breach of professionalism and stating that his behavior “did not align with the core values that Cricket West Indies upholds.”

In a statement, CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe emphasized the seriousness of the incident, saying “Such conduct cannot be overlooked and we have taken decisive action to ensure the gravity of the situation is fully acknowledged.”

Joseph, though, has since apologized for his actions, admitting that “my passion got the best of me.” He expressed remorse for his behavior and apologized to Hope, his teammates, management, and West Indies fans.

Despite the incident, Joseph continued to bowl his full quota of 10 overs, taking two wickets for 45 runs. The West Indies, however, went on to win the match by comfortably chasing down England’s total of 263/8. Brandon King and Keacy Carty both scored centuries, securing a 2-1 series win for the West Indies.
