**Srinagar, India:** The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed a third consecutive day of heated debate and physical altercations over a resolution seeking the immediate restoration of special status to the region. The session was marred by loud confrontations, scuffles, and a dramatic walkout by BJP members.

The unrest began on Wednesday when the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) introduced a resolution advocating for the reinstatement of Articles 370 and 35A, which granted special status to the region. The BJP vehemently opposed this move, deeming it illegal and demanding its withdrawal. However, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather rejected their request, emphasizing the House’s authority over any passed resolution.

The BJP countered these efforts, alleging that the regional parties were attempting to compromise the Assembly’s integrity and reaffirming their stance that the abrogation of Article 370 was a settled matter.
