Fri Nov 08 10:12:43 UTC 2024: ## Singham Again Falls Short of Jawan’s Box Office Dominance in Week 1
**Mumbai, India** – The highly anticipated “Singham Again” starring Ajay Devgn opened strong with ₹43.5 crore on its first day, but failed to match the box office juggernaut “Jawan” starring Shah Rukh Khan.
“Jawan,” released on September 7, continues to dominate the box office with a staggering ₹368.28 crore net in its first week, compared to “Singham Again”s ₹173 crore net.
Despite its impressive opening, “Singham Again” saw a steady decline in earnings throughout the week, reaching an estimated ₹8.75 crore on Day 7. “Jawan,” on the other hand, achieved a remarkable ₹75 crore on its opening day and has remained a box office powerhouse.
“Singham Again,” the third installment in the popular “Singham” franchise, features an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff. While the film’s action sequences and star-studded cast drew audiences, it appears the film’s overall appeal couldn’t compete with the unprecedented success of “Jawan.”
“Jawan,” directed by Atlee, follows the emotional journey of a man determined to right societal wrongs. The film showcases Shah Rukh Khan in a double role, portraying Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The film also features a strong supporting cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Deepika Padukone, who have all contributed to the film’s box office success.
Director Rohit Shetty expressed his gratitude to audiences for making “Singham Again” his fastest ₹100 crore earning film, showcasing the film’s popularity despite its box office performance.
The week’s box office results clearly indicate that “Jawan” remains the reigning champion, solidifying Shah Rukh Khan’s reign as the “King of Bollywood.” While “Singham Again” may have fallen short of “Jawan” in terms of box office numbers, the film has still managed to garner significant viewership, showcasing the continued appeal of the “Singham” franchise.
