Fri Nov 08 08:05:26 UTC 2024: ## CID Probe Finds “Anti-Government” Motive Behind Refreshment Mix-Up for Himachal Pradesh CM

A simple case of refreshments being mistakenly served to the staff of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has taken an unexpected turn, with a CID probe concluding that the incident was a deliberate act of sabotage.

The incident occurred on October 21st when the Chief Minister visited the CID headquarters for a function. Three boxes of samosas and cakes, meant for the CM, were mistakenly served to his security personnel.

The CID investigation, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, revealed that an IG-rank officer had instructed a Sub-Inspector to procure the refreshments from a local hotel. The Sub-Inspector then delegated the task to an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable, who fetched the snacks in sealed boxes.

However, despite informing the SI, the officers delivering the refreshments were not aware that the snacks were intended for the CM. When they asked the tourism department staff on duty, they were told the refreshments were not included in the official menu.

The inquiry report concluded that only the Sub-Inspector was aware of the intended recipient, and that the officers who delivered the refreshments were not instructed to confirm their delivery to the CM.

A senior CID official further alleged that the individuals involved in the incident acted with an “anti-CID” and “anti-government” agenda, deliberately preventing the refreshments from reaching the CM. This accusation has fueled speculation that the mix-up was a deliberate attempt to embarrass the government.

The incident has sparked controversy, with questions being raised about the lack of coordination and the motivations behind the alleged deliberate action.
