**Palakkad, November 8, 2024:** United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Rahul Mamkootathil, contesting the Palakkad by-election, has vehemently denied allegations of black money dealings stemming from raids at the KPM Regency hotel on Tuesday. The allegations were made by the CPI(M), who claimed Mr. Mamkootathil was in receipt of black money at the hotel.
Mr. Mamkootathil asserted that he welcomed any investigation into the matter, stating it would ultimately benefit him. He urged the police to promptly register the statement of CPI(M) district secretary E.N. Suresh Babu, who made the accusations.
“I demand a swift investigation and conclusion,” Mr. Mamkootathil stated. “I will not tolerate attempts to slander my name by prolonging this investigation based on baseless allegations.” He accused two CPI(M) leaders of orchestrating the conspiracy with the help of certain media personnel. He expressed confidence that the case would be resolved before the vote counting on November 23.
